Location tracking saves time at Horsens Hospital |
|
Real time overview of staff and resources helps the doctors and nurses at The Regional Hospital of Horsens avoid unintentional interruptions and optimizes both patient flow and work environment
Cetrea A/S has delivered the clinical logistics real time overview solution that is implemented at the Regional Hospital of Horsens in Denmark.
Modern technology is key when efficiently improving hospital processes. Staff at The Regional Hospital of Horsens experience having more time for patient care after implementing the RTLS solution from Cetrea and Sonitor.
“The tracking works really well. We experience a lot less interruptions and less confusion in our daily work since the implementation of the system.” says the Chief Physician Ove Gaardboe at the Regional Hospital of Horsens.
The treatment of each patient involves a number of doctors and nurses who all need to be coordinated and kept up to date. With a quick look at strategically placed, large touch screen displays, staff can now locate each other without having to call around, disturbing others unnecessarily, in their search.
The locating solution is installed in work related rooms in the emergency ward. To protect the staff’s right to privacy, rooms that are not relevant are not covered and the location data is not stored.

Scottish Ministry of Health impressed with Cetrea's products |
Dr Jason Leitch, director of the Department of Patient Safety and Quality in the Scottish Executive Health Department and advisor to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in Boston, visited the Regional Hospital of Horsens to share his experience on patient safety and quality.
Before Jason Leitch had to make presentations on patient safety and quality, Hospital Director Lisbeth Holsteen Jessen and Medical Director, Jorgen Kristensen Schøler showed him around the hospital. Here they talked with staff and he was given a presentation of the iHospital [popular name for Cetrea solution].
After having visited five different Danish hospitals Jason Leitch is impressed with the implementation of Cetrea products in Horsens:
"For me, the electronic system [in Horsens'] really improves the communication, it's very good for patient safety and for the quality. But it has not removed the human aspect - to be friendly and nice. And that's important."
