As reason for the award going to Region Hospital of Horsens the award committee stated:Region Hospital of Horsens under management of Chief medical doctor Steen Friberg is awarded with The Golden Scalpel 2008 for developing the iHospital (The Interactive Hospital - editor: today Cetrea Surgical) who have broken existing barriers in the use of IT in the optimization of work processes in the Hospital. The basis for the iHospital is an IT platform with large touch screens with a set of information and facilities which creates overview, makes communication easier, optimizes the use of resources and increases the patient safety and quality of documentation. Here we are looking at an IT solution which in an intuitive way sells itself to the staff as an efficient tool to monitor the complex and different tasks when it comes to getting through the daily surgeries. The users are this way significantly involved. The iHospital is a role model that is likely to be implemented in all Hospitals throughout Region Central Denmark. On top of this the project has great benefits for research purposes. |
